Introduction

Poco, a sub-brand of Xiaomi, has unveiled its latest smartphone, the Poco X6 Pro, equipped with the revolutionary Xiaomi HyperOS. The launch is scheduled for January 11th in India, and it introduces a new variant alongside the Poco X6 Base version. The Pro version is set to make its global debut on the same day.

The Poco X6 Pro draws attention due to its lineage, succeeding the Poco X5 Pro. Reports had earlier hinted at its existence, and it is revealed that the device shares similarities with the Redmi K70E, which was launched in China in November 2023.

Several leaks and disclosures had previously hinted at the design and key specifications. The high-end Poco X6 series, featuring Xiaomi’s proprietary HyperOS, has been introduced globally, with the interface being familiar to users through Xiaomi’s 14 series in China. The official announcement on social media has also confirmed the availability of the model in India through Flipkart.

In a recent post, Poco India shared details about the Poco X6 Pro, emphasizing the integration of Xiaomi’s new HyperOS. The user interface, previously introduced with the Xiaomi 14 series in China, promises an enhanced user experience. The post also confirms the availability of the model on Flipkart in India.

Additionally, the Poco X6 Pro boasts the Wild Boost Optimization 2.0 feature, enhancing the gaming experience for users. Notably, it incorporates a large stainless steel surface of 5,000mm2 for efficient cooling, ensuring optimal performance during extended gaming sessions.

Display, Chipset and Camera

According to leaks, the Poco X6 Pro is expected to feature a 120Hz refresh rate on a 6.67-inch 1.5K LTPS display. The smartphone is speculated to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra chipset. The device will be offered in a variant with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, with a price tag of AED 1,299 (approximately INR 29,500). The leaked design renders suggest color options in blue, gold, and green.

Moving to the camera department, the Poco X6 Pro is equipped with a triple rear camera system, featuring a 67-megapixel primary sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. The device supports 67W wired fast charging for its 5,000mAh battery.

With an AnTuTu score exceeding 1.4 million, the Poco X6 Pro has garnered praise as a “segment-best” performer. Poco’s global post has teased this handset as a “super-speedy quasi-flagship,” suggesting impressive speed capabilities. The teaser also showcases the rear camera module design, similar to that seen on the Redmi K70E, with a circular layout and a long rectangular LED flash unit below.
