Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Launched with 200MP Camera & Titanium Frame

On the night of January 17th, the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S24 series, including the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus, and Galaxy S24 Ultra, was officially launched during the Galaxy Unpacked event.

As speculated in numerous leaks, these new flagship smartphones come with the ‘Galaxy AI’ feature. Among the AI features, live translation, note assistance, and circle-to-search functionalities are highlighted.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra boasts a “Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC for Galaxy,” a tweaked version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, and is encased in a titanium frame. The phone also offers a substantial 12GB of RAM.

The pricing details for the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra are as follows:

  • The base variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at $1,299.

  • The higher variants with 12GB + 512GB and 12GB + 1TB options are priced at $1,419 and $1,659.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra comes in titanium gray, titanium black, titanium violet, and titanium pink color options.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 series is set to hit the markets for sale starting January 31st. However, specific details about the pricing and availability in India are yet to be officially disclosed. Currently, reservations are open for eager customers.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Specifications

The Galaxy S24 Ultra operates on Android 14, running One UI 6.1. It boasts a 6.8-inch edge QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a flexible refresh rate spanning from 1Hz to 120Hz and reaching a peak brightness of 2,600 nits. The device is equipped with Vision Booster to improve visibility in outdoor settings and incorporates Corning Gorilla Glass for extra durability.

The phone’s frame is constructed from titanium, an upgrade from the aluminum structure of the Galaxy S23 Ultra. It is fueled by the customized version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC for the Galaxy series, providing 12GB of RAM and a maximum onboard storage capacity of 1TB.

Concerning the camera features, the Galaxy S24 Ultra showcases a quad rear camera setup. The primary camera is an impressive 200MP wide lens with OIS. Additionally, the camera array includes a 12MP ultra-wide lens, a 50MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, and a 10MP periscope telephoto lens with 10x optical zoom. For capturing selfies and engaging in video chats, there is a 12MP front camera.

Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 5.3, and USB Type-C ports. The phone also supports the S Pen stylus and ensures privacy with features like Samsung Knox, Knox Vault, and registered websites access with passcodes. Additionally, it comes with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra houses a 5,000mAh battery, supporting 45W wired charging, 15W wireless charging, and Fast Wireless Charging 2.0 for quick and efficient charging. Samsung claims that the charging technology can charge the battery to 65% in just 30 minutes. The phone also supports wireless power share for charging other compatible devices.

Measuring 79 x 162.3 x 8.6mm and weighing 232 grams, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra aims to deliver a premium and powerful smartphone experience to users.
